3 years on..

It’s been a crazy three years since barbecue in Australia and New Zealand really started booming. We have seen some astonishing growth and  ‘low and slow’ barbecue has become a massive growth industry in Australasia.
To put it into perspective, when you sit down and think about it ..

— We now have —
• Around 40 Barbecue competitions in AUS and NZ.
• 300 competing Barbecue teams.
• A National Championship for both AUS and NZ.
• The largest barbecue competition outside America.
• An Invitational.
• A feature film based on barbecue releasing soon.
• A mini-series produced by the ABA launching this year.
• Almost 70,000 members of the AUS and NZ Groups.
• Jess Pryles and Adam Roberts both releasing cookbooks.
• Teams launching their own knives, rubs and sauces.
• SHC working on season 2 of a podcast.
• 5 different sanctioning bodies supporting events.
• Lance Rosen wins best BBQ cookbook in the world.
• A well known BBQ team has a pilot barbecue show green lighted from a major network.
• A New Zealand barbecue TV/reality show in production.
