Jay Beaumont Co-Founder
Jay is the creator and organiser of the Port Macquarie Blues & BBQ Festival, the largest national BBQ Championship ever held in Australia. He is the Managing Editor of Focus Publications, Publisher of 100 Dishes of the Pacific Coast and Art Director for Cafe Culture Magazine and The Healthy Cook. He loves meat, BBQ and travelling.
Jess Pryles Co-Founder
Jess has been writing, presenting, hosting, tasting and obsessing over BBQ for many years now, and is based out of Austin, Texas. She produces the internationally acclaimed Carnivores Ball, is an accredited Central Texas BBQ Association and Kansas City BBQ Society judge and is the creator of the original ABA format & rules. Her favourite barbecue item is a perfectly smoked beef rib.
A self-confessed food enthusiast, he owned his own mobile food kitchen for several years serving up tasty treats including American Style gourmet Hot Dogs and crowd-favourite Smokey Barbecue Pulled Pork Sliders. Having partaken in many years’ worth of girth building food-on-foot tours in New York, LA, Las Vegas, the Caribbean, Mexico, Spain, Italy, Turkey, Greece, Indonesia and the South Pacific Islands, some of his favourite dishes are Spanish Tapas and also American Style Barbecue.
Darren Sutton Event Consultant
Darren’s first barbecue experiences were the traditional Aussie burnt snags and chops, cooked on an iron plate over wood at his grandmother’s beach shack. Luckily, a Texan girlfriend introduced him to the real deal in the late 1980s and he his tastebuds have been thankful ever since.
Gorana Kosanovic Event Consultant
Gorana is a relative newbie to the barbecue scene, but has fast made up for it with sheer enthusiasm and meat cravings. Her addiction began when she saw the burnt orange light in Austin in 2012. These days, she is often found trawling for brisket at barbecue joints across Sydney and Melbourne, and has a special place in her heart for morcilla.
Michael is a culinary tour de force with a passion for exploring all types of cooking methods and cuisines, all driven by his real love – eating! Barbecue is one of his favourite items to both cook and eat, he spends most of his free time in front of the smoker or with his competition team, Badass BBQ. He has a particular interest in researching new techniques, methods and equipment to improve and enhance his barbecue mastery.
