The Friendly Inn – Kangaroo Valley was the scene for the final Round (18) of the Barbeques Galore Australasian Barbecue Championships. Scotch & Smoke pulled out the highest aggregate score of the season to become Grand Champions for the second time this year.
With 18 ABA Sanctioned Competitions across Australia in 2016, the ABA has quickly become one of the largest Barbecue Competition Sanctioning organisations in the world.
The ABA wishes to thank all of our valued Event Promoters for this season and making the series happen.
Thanks also to the 2016 Series Major Sponsors Barbeques Galore, without whom the ABA would not have had the resources to deliver the support for events to the quality that it has.
It was an excellent turn out to each of the events in 2016 with 203 Teams competing in one or more competitions and 60 Teams becoming eligible for a National Ranking by completing 3 or more competitions in the calendar year.
A huge congratulations to Suck Knuckle Smokers who have become the first-ever Australian Grand Champion Barbecue Team and National Title holders for 2016.
Last but no least, a big shout to the ABA Admin Team, Head Judges & Comp Crew for their voluntary efforts in delivering first-class management and support for the on-ground activities this year. You guys rock.
